Rant: Why don’t makeup companies update their f*cking websites?

Okay, Wet N Wild just released their new collection of eyeshadow quads and eyeliners to the stores and I am across them this evening at a local Walgreens. However when I came home to get more information about these new goodies, and there wasn’t any mention of the new eyeshadows on the site. In fact, the Wet N Wild site is now just promoting their mineral foundation that came out last summer! WTF?!?

Wet N Wild isn’t the only company that has this problem. Prestige Cosmetics also does not update their website either. Prestige is still promoting their Lash Matrix mascara as their newest product. That particular product came out OVER A YEAR AGO! How wrong is that? Since then, Prestige has released many different items and collections ranging from new lipglosses to new eyeshadow collections and more mascaras. But you wouldn’t know that if you browsed their website.

Milani Cosmetics is also guilty of not updating their website. Their “What’s New” page is showing all the new products that are being released in February and March… 2007. The Runway Eyeshadow palettes STILL haven’t been put onto the website. And as every beauty buff knows, those came out over a year ago.

So can anyone explain to me why these companies, have not put in the time to update their sites? They pay for these sites, and the purpose of said sites is to promote their new products, and yet nothing. Fortunately not all brands take this attitude when it comes to the internet. NYC Color is actually quite good at keeping their site updated with their newest collections, which makes it easier to decide on what you want to look at before you head out to the store.

Does this practice of not updating websites annoy the piss out of anyone else? Hit me up in the Comments with your opinion. :)

My Beauty Crimes

Since many other beauty blogs are doing their own list of beauty crimes, I thought I’d do mine as well.

1. Using my dirty brushes. I, like many others do not clean my brushes as often as I should. But then I do not wear makeup a lot right now, so I guess it works out. LOL.

2. Picking and touching my face. I cannot stand having blemishes and extra hairs on my face, so I am always digging and messing with my face. It’s a horrible habit, but I rarely get breakouts, so it’s all good.

3. Laundry. I know this isn’t exactly related to makeup, but I hate doing laundry, so I tend to put it off as long as possible, which means I tend to wear some clothes more than once. I usually go through my cute clothes first so my clothes really crappy towards the time when I break down and do my laundry. So if my clothes look crappy, then I tend to not look my absolute best.

4. Not wearing SPF. I always forget to put on spf before heading out side. I live in Northern Florida. I have no excuses for not wearing it.

5. Chipped nail polish. I almost never change my nail polish when it starts to chip. When it starts to chip, I tend to pick it off with my fingers, which I’m sure is really bad for the nail in question.

I’ll post other lists in the future!

Fergie “Viva Glamorous” Remix

Fergie “Viva Glamorous” Remix

RESPONSIBILITY IS VIVA GLAMOROUS

M•A•C COSMETICS’ NEWEST VIVA GLAM VI SPOKESPERSON,
FERGIE, REMIXES HER HIT SONG ‘GLAMOROUS’ TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR HIV/AIDS

LIMITED NUMBER OF FREE DOWNLOADS AVAILABLE AT MACCOSMETICS.COM

New York March 25, 2008 – Three-time Grammy Award winning artist and latest M•A•C VIVA GLAM spokesperson, Fergie, is using her voice to further raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS crisis in youth. Along with PoetNameLife, she has recorded ‘VIVA GLAMOROUS’, a remix of her hit song ‘Glamorous’, as an added contribution to her VIVA GLAM VI campaign. A limited number of free downloads of the remix and VIVA GLAM E-cards will be available March 25, 2008 on maccosmetics.com. The E-cards reinforce Fergie’s Responsibility is Glamorous message by pairing her sexy VIVA GLAM visual with alarming AIDS facts that concern youth. She also encourages people to buy a M•A•C VIVA GLAM VI Limited Edition Lipglass, the sales of which benefit the Global Youth Prevention Initiative. The M•A•C AIDS FUND directs the funds from this initiative to international organizations that address the AIDS crisis in young people. The remix will also be available in April on M•A•C websites in the U.K., France, Australia and Germany.

“Half of all new HIV/AIDS infections are in people under twenty five and it is important that we get the message out to all young people to be educated and understand the risks of HIV/AIDS. I want to bring more attention to this issue and my music allows me to reach the youth that are potentially at risk.”
M•A•C Viva Glam VI Spokesperson Fergie

The M•A•C AIDS Fund, the heart and soul of M•A•C Cosmetics, was established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. M•A•F is a pioneer in HIV/AIDS funding, providing financial support to organizations working with underserved regions and populations. As the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical giver in the arena, M•A•F strives to raise awareness of four key issues in the fight against HIV/AIDS: prevention, the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS, access to care, and adherence to medications and treatments. To date, M•A•F has raised $100 million (U.S.) exclusively through the sale of M•A•C’s VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipglass, donating 100 per cent of the sale price to fight HIV/AIDS.
