** NOTICE: WHEN IT COMES TO FOUNDATIONS WHAT WORKS AND DOES NOT WORK ON MY SKIN, DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE PRODUCT IS NOT A GOOD PRODUCT. I HAVE VERY PICKY SKIN AND THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION.**

I received this foundation in my group of samples to try and review. I got two shades, Light #2 and Medium #2 which are the two lightest shades that are offered for people with a neutral tone. The Light #2 was too light for my skin and the color of Medium #2 was a little off as well. But when I added a little bit of the Light to the Medium, the color matched my skin pretty well.

The wear of the foundation was decent – it was gone by the end of the day, which is normal for me because I tend to sweat everything off during the day because the humidity in North East Florida is crazy. The coverage of the foundation was sheer, but it was buildable into light/ medium coverage. This would be good for people who want light coverage. Since I have been having skin problems lately, I had to use a pretty heavy duty concealer under this foundation. The foundation did however blend into the concealer quite well, so it wasn’t obvious that I had a cream concealer on underneath. After I apply my foundation, blush and eye makeup, I always use a setting / finishing powder, and even then I still need to blot, and I still had this problem with this foundation – but I expected that.

Final Thoughts: This is a good foundation, in my opinion, it’s just not for me especially during the summer months. The problems I had with this foundation are the same I’ve had with several other mineral foundations. I’ve had tried many, many foundations over the past year, and only two out of all of those have really worked for my skin, and that was Aubrey Nicole and Mad Minerals. The reason these work on my skin is that they go onto my skin very creamily, so they tend to hold better onto my skin. The Alice Cosmetics foundation went onto my skin easily enough, there was just a little bit of chalkiness that I was able to buff away. So I think that if you are looking for a new mineral foundation to try, then I would recommend you give this foundation a try. Because, like I said several times, just because it didn’t work like a dream for me, doesn’t mean that it won’t be what you are looking for.

I dun did buy me some Chanel, Ya’ll!!!

Ok, you guys know me as the queen of the cheap, which is a title that I wear proudly :-P . Well today I went to the Avenues Mall today, which is a mall that I rarely go to, and I wandered by the Chanel counter and low and behold, they had the infamous , almost completely sold out nail polish in Kaleidoscope. This is one of those colors that boggles the mind, seriously. This is also the most expensive nail polish I have bought $20. This was a sort of impulsive buy, I like every other blogger in the beautysphere has been drooling over this color, but I tend to shy away from the Chanel counter because the sale girls seem extremely snobbish and rude :( .

But this day, the stars had aligned in my favor, I went past the Chanel counter and low and behold, the Chanel girl was NICE!

GASP!

Not only that, but sitting prettily in its spot on the display was the tester bottle of Kaleidoscope. I gave in to the temptation and tried a little bit of the liquid goodness on my thumb. And trust me, when the light hit that color on my nail. I was gone.

IT WAS LOVE!

Needless to say, $21 later I walked away from the counter carrying in my purse a little bit of Chanel glamour. This was my first try at Chanel, and so far, I have been blown away. I plan on doing a review of this beautiful color, in all its glory, but I needed just needed to share this little haul of mine. I rarely ever purchase luxury items, but I just had to have this color. Everyone who has seen it, has fawned all over it. So I think it was a GREAT buy.

The review is coming soon :-D

Review: Broadway Real Life French Nail Set

Name: Broadway Real Life French Nail Set

Product: 3/5

Price: $4.99

Available: Anywhere

Would I Purchase Again: NO

I can definitely see the advantage to using fake nails. They stay in place, and you alway look like you just had a mani at a five star salon. However I am not one of those people who have ever been tempted to use fake nails, but when I received these nails to test out and review, I thought, why not and I decided to give these babies, which were definitely cute a go. Well, this may just be from my inexperience from never using fake nails before, but I had a monster of a time getting these nails to look right on my hands. I really didn’t care for the glue that came with these nails, it looked and smelled exactly like the super glue you would pick up at the store. The directions say that you apply a lot of glue to your natural nail and then to the fake nail and then press the fake nail to your real nail.

Unfortunately, one of my biggest problems with this product is that the glue dries super fast, so if you apply the nail even a little bit crooked, well, that nail is on there now, and the only way to get it off is to use acetone. You actually have to submerge the entire top half of the finger into the acetone for about 5 minutes to peel the nail off. This completely ruins the nail, making it impossible to move it to another nail. So you have to be extremely careful when applying these, or you will very easily ruin most of nails. The nails were decently sized, even though they are really short. My natural nail is longer than the fake nail, so these nails wouldn’t have worked on my hands, unless I file them down. I wasn’t about to do that, because I love my nails the way they are :)

Final Thoughts: There isn’t much I can say about these nails, they are realistic looking and would be great for someone who wants a classic french mani without paying out the butt for regular salon visits. If you are used to applying fake nails, then these will be a dream for you. But for people like me, I will continue to just use my real nails and the hundreds of polishes I have in my room.

Review: Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask

Name: Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask

Product: 5/5

Available: Sephora, BlissWorld

Price:$52

Would I Purchase Again: Yes

Description: Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask rang up the most sales of ANY mask in 2007.
A super-quick-fix for dull, tired, sallow, ‘I’m sick of my skin’ skin. Engineered to mimic the effects of our spa’s famous Triple Oxygen™ Treatment facial (but in seconds), this fabulous new complexion brightening formula uses every ‘tech’ in the book to furnish you with a fresher, younger-looking face.

Ingredient Highlights: The Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask is also formulated with:
FluidO2™, a special ‘liquid ventilation’ system, to carry stable oxygen molecules and release them on your skin’s surface
Sodium PCA, a fantastic humectant molecule that keeps your skin hydrated without ever getting greasy
BV-OSC, the most multi-active powerful form of vitamin C ester available

Ingredients: Water (aqua), methyl perfluorobutyl ether, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium laureth sulfate, coco-glucoside, glycerin, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, cyclopentasiloxane, chondrus crispus (carrageenan), polyquaternium-37, dimethicone PEG-7 phosphate, fragrance (parfum), propylene glycol dicaprylate/dicaprate, sodium PCA, vitis vinifera (grape) seed extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, gynostemma pentaphyllum extract, panthenol, polyhydroxystearic acid, ethylhexyl isononanoate, isononyl isononanoate, sodium cocamidopropyl PG-dimonium chloride phosphate, hydrolyzed soy protein, potassium chloride, benzyl alcohol, phenoxyethanol, tocopheryl acetate, potassium sorbate, PPG-1 trideceth-6, citric acid, mica, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, ferulic acid, ethylbisiminomethylguaiacol manganese chloride, titanium dioxide (CI 77891), tocopherol, citral, limonene, linalool, red 40 (CI 16035), yellow 5 (CI 19140)

This product is actually my first foray into the world of Bliss – normally I do not like spending the big dollars on skincare, because I get great results from drugstore stuff, so why should I buy expensive products when the cheap ones work just as good. But when I got the chance to try out the Bliss facial masque, I jumped at the chance. And I’m glad I did.

This facial masque is a amazing. I fell in love with it after my first couple of times using it. You pump out a small amount of the gel onto your hand and then you spread an even layer over your face and it foams up and bubbles on your face. You can feel the bubbles fizzing and popping on your skin, it’s a very enjoyable feeling actually. You leave the masque on for about 5 minutes and during that time you will see the gel turn into foam, and then disappear into the skin. After I rinsed the left over product from my skin, I was FLOORED at how my skin looked. My skin had never looked brighter and it felt incredibly soft to the touch. I had that indescribable glow that everyone wants, but was never able to get.

Well, I got it big time!

Final Thoughts: I love this masque. When I finish this huge bottle (3.4 oz) you can bet I will purhcase another bottle. It’s interesting, many other bloggers who have tried this product has commented on the fact that it smells like citrus / oranges, to me it smells like the Froot Loop cereal. It’s not an unpleasant smell, but it is definitely an interesting scent that Bliss chose for this product. This is the only product in my possession that actually smells like cereal and doesn’t reside in my kitchen. To me this product is COMPLETELY worth it’s price, and I’m glad I was introduced to it. I plan on using this when my skin needs a quick pick me upper!

DIY: Bath Bombs

I have to admit something, I don’t take baths – I prefer to shower. I used to like baths, but the bathroom I had in college did not have a tub, so I became a big fan of showering quickly. However, many of you like taking long baths, so this one’s for you!

I know many people are fans of LUSH bath bombs, and are more than willing to fork over the cash to purchase these bath bombs. But for those of you who don’t want to spend $6 on a single use bomb, check out this Homemade version of the bath bomb. These are cheap and easy to make, and would make great gifts.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: PURPOSE:
AVOBENZONE 2%……………………. SUNSCREEN
ENSULIZOLE 0.9%…………………… SUNSCREEN
OCTISALATE 5%……………………… SUNSCREEN
OCTOCRYLENE 1.5% ……………….. SUNSCREEN

I received this product a couple of weeks ago to test out and I’ve been wearing it off and on for the past couple of weeks now, and I feel confident enough to review it. The bottle is a pump bottle, which controls the amount of product you put into your hand. I am really glad that they added this feature to their bottle, because this stuff costs $58 and I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want to be wasting a product that costs that much. The lotion glides easily onto the skin and moisturizes quite nicely. There really isn’t a strong smell to this lotion, so sensitive people shouldn’t have a problem with this. I put this on under my makeup in the morning and it gives all day protection.

All around, this is a great sunscreen. however there are certain things that I do not like about it. It’s not the product itself, that I dislike, its other factors. I tend to prefer lotions and moisturizers with a SPF level of 25+ so the level of protection isn’t as high as I would like it to be. For $58 I would expect any moisturizer to have a greater SPF than just 15. The size of the product is another thing I dislike about it, it only has 1.7 oz, which is quite small to me. I personally am used to picking up big 8-10 oz sunblocks with SPF of 30+. So this sunscreen was a big shock to me.

Final Thoughts: If you are someone who wants a good sunscreen moisturizer and you have no problem shelling out the big bucks for a sunscreen, then by all means give this product a look over. There is also the added bonus in this product of it being able to correct hyper pigmentation spots on the face over time. I have not used this product long enough to be able to comment on this aspect, but it’s not something that I would base my purchase. So if you are like me, who prefers cheaper sunblock with a greater amount of SPF, then I would bypass this product and head on over to CVS to pick up some of their sunblock, which I have reviewed on here.
