In My Opinion: Best Drugstore Lipglosses

I hope to make this a new series in where I post lists of products that I think are the best. This one is all about lipglosses. You don’t have to agree with me, that’s one of the great things about having your own opinion!

Wet N Wild Speed Glosses ($3.99): I these are some of my newest acquisitions, but I already love them a lot. These come in a squeeze tube with a hard plastic applicator, that spreads the product easily. These are slightly sticky, and are very pigmented. There is a distinct minty taste in these glosses. They remind me of the B&BW C.O. Bigelow squeeze glosses.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss ($6.99): These have long been a favorite of beauty junkies around the world. They are non sticky, long lasting and come in a wonderful selection of colors. These glosses are pigmented, but can also be applied sheerly as well. I find that I can wear these alone or paired with a lipstick. There is barely any taste or scent to these glosses, so they are perfect for people who do not want or like taste or fragrance in their lipglosses.

Milani Crystal Gloss ($3.99): If I didn’t know any better, I would think that these glosses were MAC lipglasses in a different tube. Crystal Glosses have the same texture, scent and staying power as the lipglasses, only with a much, much smaller price tag. I only have one of these right now, but I absolutely adore it, and it has proven itself to be a wonderful, high quality gloss.

Milani Lip Mixers($6.99): Even though these are brand spankin’ new on the market, I already feel that these are some of the best glosses available. The idea behind these glosses, is that you mix the three different layers in the tube to get one shimmery, highshine color. I love these glosses, because they are heavily pigmented, and that they last for a good while on the lips. The scent is pleasant to me, it’s a grape-y scent that some people may like or dislike. The taste and scent goes away after a few minutes though, leaving a gorgeous gloss behind. I have four of these, and I love every single one of them. It’s a good thing that these are permanent.

NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss($4-5): For the longest time, these glosses were the only ones that I wore. The texture was smooth and non sticky, and they were long lasting compared to other non sticky glosses. They are also quite pigmented, only a few of them are sheer. The scent to me, is very pleasant, it reminds me of cherry lollipops. My HG nude gloss is in the shade Natural, which is the perfect brown / pinkish color. Even though I have these glosses listed under drugstore, NYX isn’t really found in many drugstore/ chain stores. They can be found online, and at random Beauty Supply stores. They are well worth the search.

Sally Hansen Lipnotic Gem Gloss ($6.99): Two words: DAZZLEGLASS DUPES! These glosses came out last year around the time MAC’s DazzleGlass lipglasses came out. I feel that these glosses by Sally Hansen are really good, cheaper alternatives of the expensive MAC ones. Both glosses are sheer, while being overloaded with shimmer and shine. Many people are split on these glosses, some like the Sally Hansen ones, while others do not feel that they are good alternatives. I personally love these, and they work well for both day time and night time.

Sally Hansen Natural Butter Lip Shine ($5.99): Last, but certainly not least, are these glosses. The texture is interesting, it reminds me of a jelly gloss, so it’s not quite as liquidy as other glosses. These apply sheerly, so they are not a pigmented as the Milani or NYX glosses. The glosses are down right tasty, they remind me strongly of fruit punch, so I feel like I have drunk some punch every time I apply this gloss. These are not long lasting at all, but I still think they are worth it just for the mirror like shine they babies give off!

You can find all these glosses at your local drugstore. Always be on the look out for sales!!

Hauls From This Past Week

I have been so freaking busy this past week. I’ve been trying to get all my Christmas presents together. I’ve been making homemade body scrubs for everyone, so that has been a pain to put together. But it’s been cheap – which leaves me plenty (hah) of money left over for my hauls. So I thought I would just make a massive list of everything I have picked up!

Kohls:

Flirt Cosmetics 40 count eyeshadow palette. This is no longer available online, and it’s selling out of the stores. I was lucky to get mine – which was the last one there. Anyway these eyeshadows are the same size as MAC’s so they fit into the their palettes. I have to say that there are some duds in this set, but there are more good eyeshadows than bad, so it’s still worth the $23 I paid for it.

CVS: Last week, CVS had a BOGO Free sale on their L’Oreal Lippies, so I grabbed some of the Glam Shine liglosses, because I had be curious about them. NYC Color was also marked down 50% so, I grabbed a bunch of the Ultra Longwear lipsticks, I like them and they were $1 a piece.

L’Oreal Glam Shine lipglosses in Diva, Prima Donna (MAC Pink Clash Dupe!), Drama Queen and Seductress.

NYC Color Ultra Last LipColor: Air Kiss, Rose Petal, Red Flame, English Rose, Mousse, and Rose Gold

Beall’s Outlet: This place always has a few good finds in their makeup area, and this week was no different.

Revlon Limited Edition Bare – It – All Lustrous Powder: Buff Love, Goldi-Locks, Peachy Tease, and Pink – A – Boo.

L’Oreal Colour Juice lipstick in Cheeky Peach

Walgreens: There wasn’t too much on sale this week, but I did pick up a new Rimmel lippie that was 40% off and I has a $1 off coupon, so I picked up one to test. I love long wearing lipsticks and glosses, so I’m looking forward to trying this one out.

I think I spent around $50 or so for my entire haul. Which isn’t bad AT ALL. I will probably get around to writing reviews for the Glam shines and Rimmel lippies because they are still available on the market. The Revlon and the Flirt goodies won’t be getting a review because of their hard to find status now.

CCO & Bealls Outlet Haul

NOTE** For some reason I cannot fathom, my camera is no longer attaching to my computer, so I cannot do any pictures :-( . **

So today, I made my very first trip down to the St Augustine Outlet Malls, where a  Cosmetic Company Outlet store is conveniently located. After hyperventilating over all the discounted MAC, I happily dug into the all the goodies and chose the pieces that would eventually make their way home with me. I also went to the Bealls Outlet store which is near the CCO and I also picked up a lot of goodies there as  well. :-)

Here is my pictureless haul from today:

CCO:

Helium Pigment (13.75)

Pink Clash lipglass (10.00)

Jadeye & Haunting fluidliners (10.50 each)

Together everything came out to be $48 with tax. I think that was a pretty damn good deal ;-)

After hitting up the CCO, I headed over to Bealls to check out what they have, and I walked out with a bunch of stuff there as well. At Bealls, they had a bunch of Revlon makeup marked 70% off and as I was digging through the baskets, I came across LANCOME lipsticks priced at $9.99, with 70% off that. So I got a LANCOME lipstick for $3.00.

MAJOR SCORE!

So here is everything I grabbed at Bealls:

Lancome lipstick in Luxe (3.00)

Revlon Golden Affair Blush in Naughty or Spice (1.50)

Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor in Perennial Plum / Sterling Plum (1.20)

Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor in Endless Spice / Copper Nude (1.20)

Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor in Boundless Brandy / Platinum Pink (1.20)

Bamberry Parfum An Impression of Burberry Weekend Women (3.99)

Fantastic Dream Parfum: An Impression of Midnight Fantasy Britney Spears (3.99)

All of this together came out to be around $17 and change for everything. Which is a WIN for me, considering that I love longwear lipcolors and I was able to score three gorgeous colors for less than $5. I know that many people dislike perfume impressions, saying that they are too fake and cheaply made. Well, I can honestly say that the two perfumes I picked up at the store today smell DIVINE and that they last a very long time. After I bought the perfumes at noon today I sprayed each wrist with the perfumes and the scents are still going strong over 9 hours later, so I think they were more than worth the money. :-)

So that was my haul today, and I really wish I could show all of you pictures of everything, but until I can either get a new camera or figure out how to fix this one, this blog will be severely deprived of pictures. :-(

Until Next Time!!
