Unless you have been living underneath a rock these past several months, you would know that a little movie called TWILIGHT had its opening weekend this past few and the movie that cost $35 million to make, ended up raking in $70.1 million on its opening weekend. I saw the movie three times over the past four days. Once on Friday, Sunday & Monday and I can honestly say that the movie gets better and better with each viewing of it. I honestly have no idea how I am going to be able to last until May when the movie comes out on DVD.
Anyway – last night I was wondering around the mall before the movie and I came across this new store that just opened on Saturday called, Fragrant Body Oilz, and they specialize in fragrance oils and body care. I am CONSTANTLY looking for new fragrance oils, I think I like fragrance oils more than makeup! GASP! Anyway – I wandered into the store and I was surrounded by hundreds of jars of scents. I believe the company makes over 500 different fragances.
It was INCREDIBLE!
I didn’t get a good look at everything in the new store, but I did hit the internet today and I googled for their online store. I was impressed with how much this store offers online. Not only do they have the huge amount of scents, but they offer many, many ways to purchase these scents. They have fragrance oils to burn, body sprays, body butters, body scrubs, hand sanitizers and many other formats. I also got a better look at the different scents that Fragrant Body Oilz offers. When I was in the brick and mortar store, I didn’t take my time to look at every category. But online, I discovered that they offer just about every scent you could ever want. One of the more interesting things to me, was that they offer many Bath & Body Works clones. Several of the ones they offer look to be discontinued scents, so if the quality is there, this would be a great place to stock up on scents that you are missing.
I personally have not used any of Fragrant Body Oilz products, but I plan on picking up some stuff in the new future, whenever I get back over to the mall. Their instore prices are amazing for the amount of the product that they are offering. I believe that for one ounce of oil in store is $4.99 and that if you purchase two of them, you get one free. So I am definitely going to take advantage of that.
Anyway – enough of rambling. Head on over to Fragrant Body Oilz to check out their huge selection and then after that, get your tushy over to the local movie theatre to check out Twilight, cause that movie is AWESOME!
I recently found out that MAC supplied the makeup for Twilight (which opens in a WEEK). There is an article floating around the beauty blog-o-phere in where Jeanne Van Phue, Makeup Department Head for Twilight sits down and discusses the trials and tribulations of having to do the makeup on a wet RPattz and crew. I enjoyed the interview so much, that I thought I would post it for all of you to see.
Q: What was the process for creating the various characters’ looks?
A: Katherine Hardwicke, the director, and I have previously worked together on a movie called Lords of Dogtown, so we know each other very well. I began by preparing sketches of my vision, keeping in mind the descriptions Stephanie Myers (Twilight’s Author) set forth in the books.
Bella’s (Kristen Stewart’s character) description in the novel is very pale and extremely beautiful with large chocolate brown eyes, so she wore colored lenses every day. I also pictured her as a natural beauty, which is exactly what Kristen is. I used a light hand while applying all neutral colors to make her look as though she had no makeup on.
Edward’s (Robert Pattinson’s character) description in the novel is impossibly handsome almost god-like. His skin is marble-pale, hard as stone and ice cold, but perfect and flawless. Edwards’ eyes are described as topaz colored when he is normal and black like onyx, when hungry.
Q: Were there any changes to the looks of the characters that weren’t planned?
A: At the beginning, Katherine Hardwicke visualized Edward with long hair, yet after studying his face and jaw line in the makeup test, the decision was made to go with short hair to accentuate his amazing jaw line.
Q: What was the overall look of the makeup in this movie?
A: All the vampires had to be pale, but I didn’t want them to look to ghoulish, somewhere between Sweeney Todd and Interview with the Vampire. The choice was made for a denser, more opaque look for the supporting vampires and a lighter look for the leading man.
The challenge was they still had to look beautiful and handsome. The key was striking the delicate shading balance. We had two weeks of makeup test. This is the time for a makeup artist to unleash their imagination.
During the testing Katherine let me know when I was on the mark. Katherine has a fabulous eye for detail and everything I did had to be approved by her.
Q: Were there any other challenges you encountered while working on location in Portland, Oregon?
A: The rain was a huge challenge. We were outside, and it rained the entire time we were there. Most of the shots were exterior; trying to fix makeup in the rain with wet faces and wet brushes was difficult. In the end, I must say I loved working on this movie, it challenge my creativity as never before. The cast was such a great group of talented young actors.
Q: What were your non-makeup related responsibilities in terms of creating this look?
A: Another one of my jobs was too find a contact lens specialist. So I called upon the expertise of Cristina Patterson Ceret FX lens/painter from Professional VisionCare.
Q: What M·A·C products did you use on the film Twilight?
A: The M.A.C products I used on this film were eye shadows and powder for our principles. We had several other characters and day players I used M.A.C. foundations, lipsticks and blushes.
Q: How long have you used M·A·C products?
A: In 30 years as a makeup artist in my career and over 50 movies, M·A·C products have played an integral part in my work. I have probably used all of them at one time or another. I choose the cosmetics based on their skin tone and whether they are oily or dry. It also depends on how the product reacts to their particular skin type.

Okay, so the moment all Twihards have been waiting for is upon us. The third and final Twilight has been released! The trailer is longer than both of the previous trailers, clocking in at 2:23. Which beats the other two by over a minute of beautiful, beautiful footage.
So here is the new trailer:
While surfing around on youtube I also came across the funniest Twilight spoof, I’ve ever seen. It parodies the second trailer perfectly! I have watched this thing countless times over the past few days, and it still manages to make want to piss myself laughing. I don’t though…. LOL
Here is the original 2nd Twilight Trailer to refresh your memory:
And here is the awesomest spoof ever!
The soundtrack to Twilight The Movie has been announced, and the awesome thing is that Rob is on the album!!! He wrote and sang one of the songs on the album. Another cool thing about this soundtrack, is that all the songs are featured somewhere in the movie. So each piece should have a special meaning to all of the Twilighters out there. In fact, I’m going to enjoy listening to the album and trying to decide which song belongs where in the movie.
It should keep me busy until the movie comes out on 11/21!!!!!!!

I hit the mall today to pick up some MAC and to stalk Hot Topic because the first of the Twilight merch was being released. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I was there, because people were actually lining up to get the shirts!! The box of shirts was open on the floor and people were actually digging through the box for Twilight!! I ended up buying the XXL shirt – not because I am hugely fat, but because the clothing at Hot Topic is sized to fit girls who have no rib cages. So I got my XXL and it looks like a medium sized WOMENS T-shirt.
Go Figure. I still loves it soooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By The Way, this is NOT me. I took this picture off of the Hot Topic website
On the back of the shirt it says “When You Live Forever, What Do You Live For?” Can we say “sigh”?
Anyway I also hit up the MAC counter and chatted with the MUA Cathy, who is the sweetest person EVER!! I talked to her for like 45 minutes while it rained like crazy outside. From her I picked up some more MAC Brush Cleaner, which is love, and some Fix +. I’ve never used this stuff before, so it was somewhat an impulse buy, so I’m not sure if I am going to keep it or not. So I’ll give it a try and see how it works!!
I personally think that the MAC brush cleaner is one of THE BEST purchases you can make for your brushes. The stuff is super cheap, especially if you use it the way I do…. which is something for a future post.
So that is all for now, I’ll talk to you lovelies tomorrow
The second Twilight Teaser trailer came out a couple of days ago and it is freaking awesome!!!! December truly cannot come soon ENOUGH!!!!!
Words cannot express how much I cannot WAIT for this movie! December cannot come soon enough!
A scene from Twilight will be debuted at the MTV Movie Awards!!! The awards show is set to air on Sunday, June 1st at 8pm EST. So, check it out! You know I will!!
I think I’m having a heart attack right now, the teaser trailer for TWILIGHT has debuted online today!!
The complete trailer comes out on Friday!!!
If there is one movie that that I am dying to see, it would be Twilight, which is the movie version of Stephenie Meyer’s hugely successful book of the same name. Imagine how utterly excited I was this afternoon when I came across this behind the scene video. I nearly peed myself in happiness (not really…. lol).
So I thought to share it with the rest of you! Feel the excitement…..
